Knights of Zen

Knights of Zen (KoZ) is a multiplayer RPG game based on the Zen Engine. KoZ will act as a technology demo for the Zen Engine Base and RPG Starter Kit for Zen Engine.

Background

The Land of Zen is a peaceful land that is happily minding its own business when suddenly monsters and other such creatures begin popping up all over the place. Now a call for adventurers has gone out and many have heeded the call. Are you one of these brave adventurers or do you plan to profit from them by creating armor, weapons, potions, and other necessities needed for adventuring? Come find out with your friends.

Opening Zone

The opening zone will be the town of Zenlet. This quiet town has recently been over run by giant rats and other nasty critters that seem to enjoy causing trouble for the good folk in the town. They have put out a call for adventurers and those looking for a start into the world of adventuring have made their way to Zenlet.

Zenlet isn't really a large town consisting of an open smith forge (the blacksmith makes both weapons and armor kinda), one medium sized tavern, a shop that carries and odd assortment of supplies (potion of healing???), as a few other houses including the mayors and a few town elders. Some of the houses also have barns and stables behind them.

Missions in Zenlet

In the future I hope to continue testing out the limits of the Zen Engine through KoZ with an alignment system to track how good or evil your choices are as well as allowing people to have that NWN feel. Though things like your alignment won't be public there will be a reputation system that should go along with it. This is all planned for future and hopefully included in later releases of the RPG and other Starter Kits where it is seen as a needed feature.

I am going to list out the features that I can see the final version of KoZ encompassing. Some of these features will get broken into milestones for the different levels of development. As we determine where it falls in the milestone category we will a superscript number to the topic as well as a link to the milestone.

More items to come as I think of them. This is as much to keep me on track as to tell people what we are working on. Seeing as this is my first project like this I would like to learn how all these various items work with one another to further learn from this experience.
